FONT TERMS

Extrude -An extrude layer is frequently known as "shadow layer" , or offset text. The offset option in Design Space will do the same as an extrude layer. See examples here. How To Use Offset In Design Space
GLYPHS - are the pretty extra tails and swirls Here's a step by step explanation of how to use them in Design Space.

LIGATURES - special letter combinations (they won't appear in Design Space, because Design Space does not truly read font kerning, even when the "kerned font" filter is used)

FONT TIPS

TIP - When there is an option, choose OTF. TTF will work fine - but OTF can hold many more characters, so sometimes there will be more fun glpyhs and combos in OTF.
TIP - The website Wordmark.it will show you your text in every font installed on your computer
TIP - Most of the fonts on dafont are free demo versions that do not include the glyphs. Find a list of great free fonts that DO include the glyphs, here.
SAVE text as an svg, using the free utility Fontlab Pad
WELD - Always weld cursive text. Otherwise, cricut will cut out each letter separately, leaving cut marks between the letters. Once welded, it will cut the entire word as one piece, with no cut lines between connected letters.
