About Hickory Springs Farm:
My husbands grandfather bought this farm over 60 years ago. Dan's uncle, and then his father, farmed it, and now it's ours. :-) Most of our land is rented out to Dan's cousin, who does "real" farming, with tractors that cost more than our first house. We do hay and sweet corn, a few other small crops from year to year... and we raise a variety of animals. Half petting zoo, half farm.
Our main goal is to preserve it for the next generation, and to raise the next generation to appreciate it, and maybe do a little more with it.
This land is adjoining land that has been in Dan's family much longer - One of the farms has been in the family for seven generations! If you are looking for the Truckenmiller History & Genealogy, you can find that here:
Animals
Currently (and this is always changing!) We have two Scottish Highlander Cows (anyone have a bull that wants to come visit??) a few dozen goats, a donkey, cows, peafowl, and a lot of chickens.
