Quick Tip - Change Your Facebook Feed

Quick Tip - Change Your Facebook Feed
Facebook uses algorithms to decide what to show in your facebook feed.  There are many variables, but only a few you can control.

If you want to see more of something in your feed, be sure to react (like), comment, or share, that content.

If you do NOT want to see something, be sure to ignore it completely.

Commenting on something you do not like only makes it more popular in Facebooks algorithms, ensuring it will be shown to more people.  Many FB pages purposefully post inflammatory items, knowing that users will argue and comment, making their page more visible in feeds.

What does this have to do with crafting?  A couple of things:

1. When you see spam, never comment on it.  Click on the three dots at the top right of the post and "report to admins".  That brings it to the attention to the group administrators, without making it more popular in the facebook algorithms.  Commenting on the spam will only ensure that facebook shows it to more people.

2. If you want to see more from your crafting groups and pages, be sure to react to their posts.  Likes and comments are the best way to ensure you see more of that content.
