You Can Do It - Geocaching Challenge Cache

GC408QX YOU CAN DO IT! CHALLENGE CACHE

The only time we have found 6 types of caches in one day is in Boonsboro MD, during geowoodstock.  But I think this can easily be done in State College Pa...  I'm working on a plan.  I should also check to see if this can be done easily closer to where the final is located - near Duryea, PA

You must first complete the challenge portion of this cache by finding SIX cache types in ONE DAY anywhere in Pennsylvania! The thirteen acceptable cache types are:

  1. Traditional Cache
  2. Multi-Cache (Offset Cache)
  3. Mystery or Puzzle Caches
  4. Letterbox Hybrid
  5. EarthCache
  6. Virtual Cache
  7. Webcam Cache
  8. Wherigo™ Cache
  9. Event Cache
  10. Mega-Event Cache
  11. Cache In Trash Out Event
  12. GPS Adventures Maze Exhibit
  13. Project A.P.E. Cache

2. Have found at least 50 Mystery caches and post/publish that cache list(a minimum of 50) on this challenge page.
Pennsylvania
Some of our favorites in PA are:
The Legend of the 7 Gi's - I think this was our first ever night cache.  http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCWNV4_the-legend-of-the-seven-g-i-s
This one was our first experience with geoart, or waypoint art - http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC16DCJ_picture-this-waypoint-art
This Geo Addiction Series was one of my favorite series of caches of all time - I'm sorry to see it is archived.  http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC12B39_geo-addiction-1-fairyland-u-s-a
Our kids were homeschooled, so caches like this one using the fibonacci code became school work - http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC11P6M_maths-missing-minutes
Maryland
We've found 2 mystery caches in Maryland  - Our favorite to solve being the Einstein Logic Puzzle (although this was not our favorite to find!) http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCM91A_hey-youre-as-smart-as-einstein
West Virginia
We have 4 Mystery Cache finds in West Virginia.  Our favorite was http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC4ZTVD_geo-art-night?guid=518b5af1-6d84-4159-9ac1-efdef21a77bd
  New York
We found 4 Mystery Caches in New York State while there for the Alleghany Geobash

Area 81 Geocaching "Fizzy Challenge"

GC1A6YE Area 81 - Code Name "Fizzy Challenge"

"To be able to claim a find on this cache, you will need to first find at least one cache of every difficulty/terrain combination (81 unique combinations). As part of those finds, you'll need to have at least one of each of the cache types below (the different cache types DO count against the 81, so if you find a 3.5/3.5 multi-cache, it fulfills both requirements.)"

And if that was not complex enough -

All finds (except the Event and CITO Events) must be on caches that were"Published BEFORE March 26, 2008"

I created a google doc to help track your progress with this cache - see it here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Nf6RCxs0QbldPdQuvtJoW12zRzNNNPl_C2dB88qlwd4/edit?usp=sharing

Our Progress:

First, we have to have found one cache of each type:

Traditional Cache -
Multi Cache - GCHVNE Guts
Mystery Cache -
Virtual Cache - GCB619 Standing Tall
Letterbox Hybrid -
Earthcache - GC13AMQ Watkins Glen State Park Earthcache
Webcam Cache - GCMHEM Pirate & Craftys Webcam Cache
Event Cache -
CITO Event -

NEXT, we need one cache for each terrain/difficulty combination
(my plan is to fill in the GC number in each block, once I sort out which caches we have found that qualify)

At first I was confused as to how to even start tracking this - It's Not About The Numbers, which is referenced in the cache description, no longer exists.  Then I saw in the logs that others had taken screenshots of their stats from their geocaching.com profile.  Go here: http://www.geocaching.com/my/statistics.aspx

Scroll down, and you will see:
Difficulty and Terrain of Caches I've Found
and under that will be a grid like this:

This doesn't tell me if all of the caches were hidden prior to March 26 2008.  But this clearly shows what I am definitely missing, at least.
