Make A Jack-O-Lantern Roll A Doodle Game - With free svgs

Jack O Lantern Roll A Doodle Cards
Made With Cricut

Roll A Doodle is one of my favorite children's games.  There are endless variations, the game can be modified for any interest or holiday.  Monster Roll A Doodle, Snowman Roll  A Doodle, Dinosaur Roll a Doodle...  the possibilities are endless.  You can assign any part to each roll of the die - a one can be for an eye, a nose, or a hat, or cane, or any other object you wish.  Typically the items are drawn, but for preschoolers, I love using felt for the children to add the items.  Felt sticks to itself just enough to keep the pieces in place, there's no need to glue them down when you play.

For this version, I made jack o lantern shaped cards.

Materials Used:
  • Orange Felt (pumpkin)
  • Black Felt (face)
  • Brown Felt (stems)
  • Black Cardstock (card base)
  • Printable Sticker Paper (Instructions.  Card stock could be used - just glue it on rather than stick it fast.)
When you upload the svg to design space, the pumpkin will likely be black - change it to orange, and the stem to brown, or whatever colors you wish to use.  I typically change the black cardstock card to dark grey  - that keeps it on a separate mat from the face pieces, which I cut from black felt.

The group of images, when uploaded, should be sized to:
13.942 Wide
8.875 High

I cut the felt on my maker, using the rotary blade.
I used hot glue to attach the felt pumpkin to the black cardstock base.

There are a lots of free jack o lantern face svgs out there free to download, and you can make your own with simple shapes...  but I did include this group of free ones to get you started.  Size that group to :

9.542 Wide
7.087 High

Print Then Cut
A Page of this image is included in the zip file - you can just print it and cut it out by hand if you find print then cut too much of a hassle.   I used print then cut on sticker paper, and then just stuck the stickers to the card base, for mine.
If you upload the image for print then cut, size it to:

8.097 wide
2,042 high

The printable instructions are included in the zip file with the svgs.

Clear plastic envelopes from the Dollar Tree work great for storage - but a gallon sized zip lock bag would also do just as well.
