At one of our boys weddings, it poured down rain. At an outdoor ceremony. So when his brother was getting married a few months later, in another outdoor ceremony, my mom purchased umbrellas in bulk. It didn't rain for that ceremony, so the umbrellas were never used.
These exact umbrellas are not currently available, but there are nice plain umbrellas for around $10 each on Amazon here, and here. I think you can probably find them cheaper in stores like Wal-Mart and Dollar General. Home Depot appears to have nice ones for around $6.
These particular umbrellas are nice and thick, they are not see through. HTV adhered beautifully. I set my iron between cotton and wool, and did very short presses - 10 to 15 seconds - to see how the material would handle the heat. It handled it beautifully - there was no indication of it melting at all.
Be sure to use parchment paper between your iron and the design - just to be safe!
651 will not stick to umbrella fabric. It may for a few minutes, but it definitely will not hold up. You always want to use htv (heat transfer vinyl, or iron on) on fabric.
