Disclaimer - I do not use apple devices.
Because a lot of you use ipads and iphones, I have done my best to compile answers to common questions from sites that know more about these devices than I do.

I've sorted these into sections - Fonts, Svgs, & General Tips & Tutorials For Apple Users

STILL LOOKING FOR A SOLUTION!
Design space, on any device, does not read font kerning.  That means that system fonts are never spaced or formatted correctly.  Even if you ungroup and space manually, you are going to miss all sorts of variances built into the font that you simply cannot know about, unless you use the font in a program that can read it properly.  On a computer, there is a free utility you can download, called Fontlab pad.  You simply type your text, save as an svg, and upload to Design Space as an svg. There HAS to be an option like this for iphones and ipads - but I have no idea what that solution is.

  1. You can use Phonto app on your Apple device to help with the proper placement of text. It also allows you to create a shadow layer of varying widths. There are several good tutorials on YouTube.
