How to add a solid color, or patterned, bow, to the Messy Bun SVG
Download the free, commercial use, Messy Bun SVG here:
Unzip the file, upload the svg (which often looks like an html file) to Design Space.

Find the shapes tool (on the left if you are using a computer) and add a square. Make sure the square is larger than your uploaded messy bun svg. I changed the color to red, to make it easier to see what I was doing. Move the square over the messy bun svg, and choose slice. (Bottom right of the screen, if you using a computer)
Now you have 3 images. They will all be stacked on top of each other, but you can drag them away and line them up. The red outline version, shown on the left here, can be deleted. Next you want to work with that middle image, for contour.
Contour allows you to remove cuts. The quickest way to do this image is to choose Hide All Contours on the bottom right, then click on the 5 pieces that make up the bandanna. You will then need to click on the box at the very top to hide that cut, leaving you with just the bandana.

Place the bandana/Bow on the original svg, then group the two images together before resizing.
The easiest way to make the bow leopard print, or polka dots, is to cut the bow from patterned vinyl. But you could also slice a pattern from the bow - here's a step by step for making any image a leopard print image:
